Breda, masterplan de OMA, landscape urbano de West8, torres de Xaveer de Geyter…:
“The main goal of the City Council of Breda for this area was to create a high quality development, complementary to the existing qualities of the neighbouring medieval inner city. Unlike its planning tradition, the city did not formulate a conceptual guideline for the development, but chose for a design competition on the basis of a very limited program (600 houses, cultural and leisure functions, parking facilities for the inner city and the Theatre, some offices, and besides respect for some valuable historic buildings and collectivities of green)…”
La realidad es desoladora, el espacio público está sin definir, y es muy duro. Las famosas torres de Xaveer De Geyter son muy desafortunadas, se entrevé a la gente junto a las X estructurales de fachada, y las personas aparecen degradadas. Las revistas de arquitectura no muestran la realidad de los espacios.
Junto a las torres, algo alejado, y entre árboles, un edificio de viviendas, nada pretencioso y muy agradable. En este vídeo se ve la sensación del espacio creado por este edificio.
